SUSTAINABILITY & ECOLOGY

At Pomeroon we lead with sustainability. We practice Climate-Smart Agriculture, adhere to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and advance Guyana’s Green State Development Strategy.

LOCATION & CLIMATE

Whilst we are surrounded by natural beauty, we must also grapple with the changing climate. Our farm is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pomeroon River. Learn about the history of the region - and why it’s perfect for coconut cultivation.

GUYANA AT TRANSITION

Once one of South America’s poorest nations, in 2015 Guyana discovered vast oil resources. The future depends on carefully managing oil and investing in sustainable agriculture. Guyana could - and should - be the breadbasket of the Caribbean.

TEAM & COMMUNITY

Our workers are paid the Living Wage, and we target a 60% female and 75% indigenous Amerindian team. And every year we run community projects across the region, spanning education to female empowerment.
